Some friends and I went to New Zealand for our spring break when we were abroad in Australia. Overall, New Zealand is a more lush and green environment, perfect for adventure junkies like myself.
The tour that we joined was called So That’s What a Sheep is For from a company called Extreme Adventures. We drove a lot: from Christchurch to Fox Glacier, to Lake Wanaka, to Queenstown. We spent most of our time (3 - 4 days) in Queenstown.
To Do:
- Visit Te Anau and the glow worm caves
- Take a cruise down the Milford Sound
- Ride the Shotover Jet boat
- Do the Shotover Canyon Swing
- Ride the Skyline Gondola up where you can bungee jump and luge
- Take a helicopter ride and go white water rafting with Queenstown Rafting
Restaurants:
- Fergburger (a nighttime staple)
- Icy & Lola’s
Bars:
- Below Zero Ice Bar
- Buffalo
Accommodations:
- Reavers Lodge (and be prepared to take taxis up the hill to the lodge)
