Sydney was my first stop abroad in Australia, though I studied in Brisbane. It’s a pretty sizable city, definitely on the touristy side, but there are some fun things to do and great beaches to hit.
To Do:
Visit the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge
Hit the hot spot beaches including Manly, Bondi, and Coogee
Manly Beach hosts surf competitions which are pretty cool to watch
Bondi Beach has a great farmer’s market
The Coogee to Bondi Beach walk may feel long, but it’s beautiful and worth it
Take a trip to the Blue Mountains
Go to Featherdale Wildlife Park to see koalas and pet/feed the wallabies
Visit Cockatoo Island if you want to learn a little bit about the historic Sydney shipping industry
